About Kadence
Where our information comes from
Kadence exists to answer one question: what is happening with the anime and manga you care about, and when. To do that reliably we combine structured catalogue metadata with release and announcement information from primary sources, and we label how sure we are.
Catalogue metadata
Titles, alternate titles, cover art, synopses, genres, formats, episode and chapter counts, studios, staff, related entries and popularity signals are aggregated from open community metadata databases — currently AniList — and cached in Kadence so search stays fast. That layer is plumbing: it tells us what a title is, not when something happens.
Release & announcement sources
Dates, delays, hiatuses, new seasons, trailers, casting and availability changes are ranked by source tier. Higher tiers override lower ones, and a lower tier never overwrites a confirmed date.
Tier 1 — Official
Treated as confirmation
- · Official anime, manga and movie websites
- · Studio, publisher and production committee sites
- · Official X / Twitter accounts and YouTube channels
- · Official creator and author accounts
- · Distributor and streaming platform listings
Tier 2 — Reputable industry press
Reported, pending official confirmation
- · Crunchyroll News
- · Anime News Network
- · Publisher press releases
- · Established Japanese entertainment publications
Tier 3 — Community & secondary
Never auto-confirmed
- · Reddit threads and fan sites
- · Unofficial X accounts and aggregators
- · Leaks and unattributed screenshots
What the labels mean
- Officially confirmed
- Stated by an official site, account or platform listing.
- Reported
- Published by a reputable secondary source; awaiting official confirmation.
- Estimated
- Kadence projection from an established weekly or monthly release pattern.
Change history
When a date moves, Kadence records the previous value, the new value, the source, the source type and when we detected it — so dates never change silently.
We never host content
Kadence links you to official and licensed places to watch and read. Metadata is used under the terms of the providers it comes from, with attribution on this page.
